Backpack program history

Utmost care is given in selecting nutritious food items. Which schools in Mercer County participate in the program? Farrell, Sharon, Sharpsville, and Reynolds pack their bags right here in the Warehouse. How can I help? Without the support of our local churches, generous donations of time, and financial support from members of our community, we would not be able to run the BackPack Program.

This provides food to the child for weekends throughout the school year. Any donation made by an individual or civic or religious organization is ONLY used to purchase food for the program. This program only accepts donations of time or financial support. If you are interested in donating your time to pack, or if you or your organization would like to sponsor children for the BackPack program, please contact:. Terry Evans. Sharpsville Ave.

Sharon, PA Once packed, the food is transported to school districts within six Northland counties. Children are enrolled in our program and receive their bags of food weekly, on Fridays, just in time for their weekend.

Each year thanks to people like you, an important meal gap is filled by more than 33, weekend bags of food which are provided to NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin children in need as part of our BackPack Program. Our BackPack Program is available for food insecure or chronically hungry children. If your child is in need of additional food, please click here to learn more about this program, or here for all available resources.
