Microsoft has an official page that supposedly helps resolve the majority of problems. If your device will still sync with WinXP or older versions , then the fault is certainly caused by Vista; there's really nothing you can do about it except use WinXP until Microsoft decides to releases fixes to address the issue. I haven't used Vista's Sync Center myself, and I haven't yet really had a chance to experiment or explore Vista in sufficient depth to be very informative about it.

But I would guess that you might be able to simplify a lot of problems by ensuring that you have only one user, one pda, and one Outlook account.
